This fall, the Fargo North Student Council continued their tradition of collecting cans for Fill the Dome. Fill the Dome is an annual food collection drive whose aim is to fill the entire floor of the FargoDome (80,000 sq. ft) with cans for local food pantries. Started in 2007, the fundraiser has “raised over 2.1 million pounds of food and over $500,000 towards ending hunger.” according to their website, fillthedome.org.

State Student Council President, Kyle Tekautz, who has been involved in Fill the Dome since his Freshman year, says that “I’m proud of Fargo North for stepping it up and collecting more food than last year. I hope we increase the amount of donations as the years progress and hope students realize that this is benefiting people in the community, and even people in our school.” When asked why he enjoys this event, he said, “I enjoy that Fill the Dome connects STUCOs from across the region with one another, and creates the special bond between the members of our student council at Fargo North.”

Overall, Fill the Dome was a great success this year, and will hopefully continue to grow more so in years to come.
