Frostival
How to make the most of a cold winter
The snowy days are at it’s prime, and for the middle of january, there are plenty of funfilled winter activities to explore in Fargo.
The Fargo Frostival has been a winter tradition for a while now, but there was a change of schedule- Frostival will be sprawled out for six weeks, from January 15 to February 22. Frostival includes a lot of outdoor (and indoor) winter activities for families and friends to enjoy. There’s hot cocoa, coloring contests, sled parades, and much more. The West Fargo Winter Days kicked off Frostival in West Fargo and I spent my time with family and friends participating in some of the events. I was in a coloring contest, and definitely did not win, but my other friends drew very good drawings.
I enjoyed traveling to different locations in West Fargo over the past few days, it was a fun thing to distract myself from being bored during the winter time, and was a good excuse to go out and do something. I really enjoyed drinking hot cocoa and watching my friends fail at drawing a good picture. I definitely recommend checking out this year’s fun Frostival activities in several locations around Fargo. Their new schedule of events is very convenient for all families because you can go any day for two months of the year.
The cardboard races got rescheduled to this Saturday after last weekends winter storm. The races will be at Mickelson Park from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Over the years, different activities have been open for everyone at different locations in Fargo, such as cardboard sled races, winter kickball, volleyball, snow sculpture competitions, disc golf, hot cocoa, sled parades, and much more.
The full schedule is online at frostival.com/ schedule, so check it out for something different to do during the dreary months of winter. Your body will appreciate the fresh air after binging on Netflix.
