Girls Basketball drops game versus Davies

On Saturday December 1st Fargo North took on Bismarck Demons at Fargo Davies. Seniors Alexis Smith, Sophie Cody, Maddy England and Kaylee Leabo as well as junior Jennie Sem took the floor as the starters.

The game got off to a slow start for the Spartans against the highly rated Bismarck team, with Bismarck jumping out to an 11-1 in the first five minutes. The half ended with a score of 46-17, and Fargo North needed to start limiting defensive and offensive rebounds if they had any shot at crawling back into the game, with Bismarck grabbing 17 offensive and 18 defensive rebounds in the first. The second half was a little bit better for the Spartans, as they scored 21 points in the period.  

As for stats, Maddy England went 3-9 from the three point line, as well as making all four of her free throws. Senior Morgan Kommer also played well, going 3-8 on field goals and securing two offensive rebounds. Sophie Cody was good on the boards, grabbing seven rebounds as well has scoring three points. Junior Jennie Sem was all over them on defense, getting six steals in favor for the Spartans, as well as getting five rebounds. The next game for the Spartans will be at Grand Forks Central on December 11th.
