The NBA season is almost to its midway point around the all-star game. Let’s review how the league is shaped up currently by the standings compared to the power rankings.
Currently the Bucks hold onto the top spot in the Eastern Conference, 34 wins with only 12 losses to their name. Their star player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has averaged a staggering 26.5 points 12.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game while maintaining a 57.8% field goal percentage. These impressive numbers could pick up Giannis an MVP when the season is over.
But with an MVP conversation stirring, you can’t count out the beard, James Harden. His team, the Rockets, currently sit 5th in the western conference with 27 wins, 20 losses. Harden however, has been the fire for this team, scoring an impressive career high of 61 points this season. Keeping consistency with his scoring, and becoming the second NBA player to have 20 straight 30 point games, there’s a strong possibility these stats will shadow out the other candidates, and we will likely see a re-peat MVP.
